Accessibility

Our accessibility statement

Farmington Threads is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including visitors who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation.

What we've built

Measures currently in place

Semantic structure & navigation

Pages use landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer) and a single, logical heading order, a "Skip to main content" link on every page, and a visible focus outline on every interactive element — nothing suppresses the browser's default focus ring.

Keyboard access

The menu, product filters, image carousels, cart, and commission form are all fully operable without a mouse. Conditional form fields (like the "Other product type" or deadline date inputs) are removed from the tab order entirely when hidden, not just hidden visually.

Screen reader support

Icon-only controls (menu toggle, photo carousel arrows, cart link) carry descriptive aria-label text. Status messages — cart updates, checkout errors, commission form confirmation — are posted to live regions so they're announced without a page reload.

Images & media

Every content image ships with a required, descriptive alt attribute at the data layer, so a photo can't be published without alternative text.

Forms

Every field has a programmatically associated label, related choices are grouped with fieldset/legend, required fields are marked and validated, and submission feedback is announced via aria-live rather than shown only visually.

Color & motion

Text and background color pairings are checked against WCAG's 4.5:1 contrast minimum, and animations are reduced or removed automatically for visitors who set a "prefers-reduced-motion" preference in their operating system.

Resilience

The shop page is built to degrade to a clear, readable message rather than a broken layout if its live inventory source (Square) is temporarily unreachable.

Being upfront

Known limitations

Third-party checkout

Checkout, payment, and order-confirmation pages are hosted directly by Square, not by us. We choose Square in part for its own accessibility and PCI compliance work, but we don't control that experience directly.

Ongoing review

This site is actively maintained and content changes regularly. We review new pages and features against this same standard as they ship, but no site is ever "finished" from an accessibility standpoint — if something slips through, we want to hear about it.
